Roof Truss Repair

Ontario law obliges the Club to inspect the ice shed roof trusses on a 5 year cycle. Ron Thompson (our "Professor Emeritus") has developed, over the past 15 years, a system of inspection and reinforcement that again this year was accepted by a firm of consulting engineers.

This year's inspection resulted in a decision toupgrade 67 joints, 9 splice plates as well as torquing 300 plus bolts to engineers spec's. Such work has not occurred since 1994.

The inspection team toiled for 3 days. Preparation of the Condition Report used over 30 man hours and 18 day men worked 3 days to complete the upgrade.

This has been a major contribution to the Club. "The Team" was great - and deserve the Club's appreciation.
